Halver invests millions in a modern sports hall and energy transition!

The sports hall in Oberbrügge-Ehringhausen is faced with a comprehensive renovation that is planned with an investment of 1.35 million euros. These funds are made up of various sources, including 700,000 euros from the ERDRE funding and 650,000 euros from the city of Halver. The European Regional Development Fund (EFRE) supports projects that promote innovation, sustainability and quality of life. In this case, it is all about an energy efficiency renovation of the sports hall.

The extensive renovation provides for various structural measures. This includes a thermal insulation composite system for the facade, insulation of the roof, a new sports floor, as well as the renewal of the ceiling and the lighting. An air heat pump with underfloor heating and ventilation system is also installed. These conversions amount to one million euros, of which 70 percent are funded by the ERDRE Fund.

financing and own contribution

The sports hall will contribute an additional 300,000 euros in the renovation, while the city treasury provides another 350,000 euros. It is important to note that the two-story stage and sanitary area, which was built before the 1977 thermal insulation regulation, is not eligible. Nevertheless, there is also a need for action here, which is addressed in parallel to the other work to avoid additional blocking times and use synergy effects.

The aim of these modernization measures is not only to build up a contemporary sports facility, but also a significant energy saving of at least 50 percent. This would enable the municipal budget in the coming years a significant reduction in heating costs and actively contribute to the energy transition.

history of the renovation plans

The discussions on the renovation of the sports hall began in 2020. However, a funding application initially made was not taken into account in 2021 due to low capacities and the large number of applications at that time. Therefore, politics rejected a renovation without external funding. The current approach of politics and administration is now a second initiative to modernize the Oberbrügge-Ehringhausen district.

The decision to renovate and ensure financing is pioneering for the future of this sports facility. It remains to be seen how the upcoming steps will be implemented in concrete terms, and whether the measures can be continued as planned, according to the reports of localdirekt.de .
