Köln, Deutschland - A significant change is imminent! The Cologne city library could soon shine under the direction of Anja Flicker. Mayor Henriette Reker introduced her proposal for the new director on Monday, November 4, 2024. If the committee agrees, Flicker will succeed Dr. Hannelore Vogt, who has been retired since July 2024.

Anja Flicker brings an impressive career! Her trip began in 1993 at the Munich city library, followed by a change to the free economy, where she was recognized in 2003 as the "knowledge manager of the year". In 2010 she returned to the library and took over the directorate of the Würzburg city library before led to the city of Essen's library system in 2020. Of particular note is her commitment to conversion of libraries, where it implements innovative concepts, such as the first library in Germany, which was designed according to the criteria of the "third place".
