Central contact point for families: New service in Geldern opened!

From now on, the specialist services for "youth and family" bundle their strength at a new central location in Geldern. In Issumer Straße 53-55, the experts from the "General Social Service", the "Foster Child Service" and the "Fachberatung Kindertagepflege" are now working under one roof. This merger promises more efficient processing of concerns and improved accessibility for the citizens!

until mid -2024 the services were distributed in small offices in the municipalities of Issum, Kerken, Rheurdt, Straelen and Wachtendonk. But now it means: ending the fragmentation! District Administrator Christoph Gerwers enthusiastically explains: "With the larger, centrally located service point, we can do our tasks more efficiently." The opening ceremony attracted numerous guests, including Geldern Mayor Sven Kaiser, who underlined the importance of the new location for families in the region. "The presence of the district of Kleve in Geldern is important for families in the district," said Kaiser. Geldern, as a school city, becomes a hub for many students who commute here every day from other municipalities.

Cooperation in focus

The event offered a platform for exchange about common challenges and solutions. Andrea Schwan, head of the youth, social and job center district Kleve, and her colleagues emphasized the excellent cooperation between the district of Kleve and the city of Geldern. The hope of an even denser network and "short distances" for the families is tangible!
