Annoyed dealers: Sunday that is open to sales in Kleve threatens to fail!

In Kleve it is bubbling! While many retailers are looking forward to the large, open Sunday on December 1st, others in the city center are angry and frustrated. The reason? You are not allowed to open your doors! The city has established strict rules that only allow the business in the ducal bridge to Fischmarkt, including Kavariner and Gasthausstraße.
The WTM (Wirtschaft-Tourismus-Marketing GmbH) has made it clear that the complicated specifications and high costs associated with the opening of the Sunday are the main cause of this inequality. GEMA fees, technical equipment and artist costs are just a few of the financial hurdles that many dealers cannot do. Kristina Janssen, spokeswoman for the WTM, commented on and emphasized that they are actively working on enabling retailers on Haagsche Straße.

Dissatisfaction among the affected dealers is noticeable. While some business benefit from the regulation, others feel disadvantaged and excluded. Preparations for the Sunday open to sales are already underway, but uncertainty about participation causes unrest. Dealers who are not allowed to open are threatened in their existence and wonder how they can compete if they do not get the same opportunities as their neighbors.
The city is under pressure to find a solution that meets all dealers. The discussion about the Sunday opening will certainly still cause excitement, while the preparations for the big sales day will continue. The question remains: How will the city of Kleve decide to protect the interests of all dealers?
