New fire brigade house in Materborn: Modern and climate -friendly!

Kapellenstraße, 47533 Kleve, Deutschland - On Thursday, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new fire station of the Materborn fire truck took place in Kleve. Mayor Wolfgang Gebasche gathered representatives of the volunteer fire brigade, the city's building management and the construction of the building. In the middle of a large excavation pit, where the old tool shed had previously stood, the foundation stone was laid for modern and needs -based furnishings.

The new fire brigade house is built on the same property, but turned 90 degrees. It is generously measured with an area of around 4,500 m³ and offers space for four large parking spaces. These contain two for fire engines, one for the transport of teams and another for turntable ladders. This significantly improves the surgical possibilities of the fire truck.

modern equipment and sustainable energy use

The new building meets the requirements of contemporary fire protection. There will be gender -separated changing areas with showers and sanitary facilities. In addition, the upper floor houses a large room for training and gatherings, which is of great importance for the continuous further training of the volunteer fire brigade.

When it comes to climate protection, the project also sets standards. A modern photovoltaic system on the green roof ensures an independent power supply. In addition, the heating is guaranteed by an efficient air heat pump, with which the city of Kleve reaches current standards for environmentally friendly construction.

During the construction work, the Materborn fire truck moved into an interim location on Materborn Allee Quartier. Here are the fire trucks in a hall next to the changing building of the sports club SV Siegfried Materborn until the new tool shed is completed.

The city of Kleve is investing around 2.7 million euros for the new building. This measure is part of the extensive fire protection requirement plan, which has also led to new fire brigade houses in other parts of the city in recent years, including Reichswalde, Donsbrüggen and Griethausen. This is shown by the city's commitment to optimize the fire brigade equipment and ensure fire protection in Kleve.

With the new construction of the Materborn fire service equipment house, not only the infrastructure for the volunteer comrades is improved, but also an important step towards energy efficiency and modern fire protection precautions. The groundbreaking thus marks the beginning of an important construction project, which increases the security and operational readiness of the fire brigade in the region.
