Ideas for nature conservation: Citizens shape the future in Materborn!
Kleve-Materborn. A former military training area becomes a hotspot for nature lovers and creative minds! The 102 hectare area, which was once used by the Bundeswehr, has developed into a valuable nature reserve since 2015 and is now being looked after by the NRW Foundation. Nature and relaxation that are worth protecting meet here in perfect harmony!
The impressive landscape, peppered with forests, meadows and pools, is a retreat for endangered plant and animal species. From boy herb to tree piper - the biodiversity is breathtaking! But that's not all: the NABU natural protection station in Niederrhein calls the citizens to bring their ideas to the future use of the area. A measures plan should take into account both nature conservation and people's recreational needs. A call to all creative minds!
Submitideas and help shape it!
Citizens can submit their suggestions by November 24th-be it by email to nne-materborn@nabu-naturschutzstation.de, in writing to the NABU nature protection station in Niederrhein or simply in the mailbox on the site. A unique opportunity to help shape the future of this unique area!
On Wednesday, November 27th, an information event will take place in the Klever Kolpinghaus, where the planned measures are presented and discussed. There are also two guided tours of the area on November 16 and 23, in which biologists explain the special features of the natural heritage area. These tours are free and do not require registration - a real experience for nature lovers!
