Altenbüren, Deutschland - Good news for all drivers in Altenbüren! Hüttenstraße will be released for traffic again by December 13th. The city of Brilon announced this in a current press release. The construction work that started on August 28, 2023 included the complete new construction of the road over a length of 350 meters. A new channel route, partly up to four meters deep, was created and all sewage house connections were renewed. The city of Brilon informed that due to the difficult rocky underground, the work slower than planned, so that only one pipe could be laid per day. The old channels, some of which had collapsed, also had to be elaborately dismantled.
extensive modernizations
In addition to the sewer work, all supply lines were extensively renewed. Around 800 meters of power grid were relocated in both sidewalks to meet the requirements of modern infrastructure, including e-mobility. Telecommunications and fiber optic cables were also reinstalled, while 350 meters of gas pipeline were flipped. The street lighting was rebuilt and three bus stops were converted barrier -free. The city of Brilon thanks the residents and road users for their understanding during the construction period.
