Fürstenbergschule receives 14,670 euros for exciting research projects!

The Fürstenberg School in Ense can look forward to a generous money blessing. Thanks to funding from the "Science@School" program from the Bayer Foundation, the students receive a total of 14,670 euros. With this money, not only innovative research cars are being built, but also a further exciting project.

primarily 5,670 euros flow into the project "Future Mint!? - I program my world as I like it!". Third and fourth graders are active by dealing with digital design. They develop their own designs and implement them with the latest 3D printers, ploters and embroidery machines. "We want to enable the children to be able to program independently in the afternoon area. Of course under supervision," explains Bernold Uhrmeister, principal of the Fürstenberg School. These activities offer the students the opportunity to live out their creativity and develop technical skills.

An additional project that benefits from the funding is "Make Make Mint". For this purpose, 9,000 euros are made available to set up four mobile research workshops. In these workshops, the children are allowed to discover, tinker and experiment in the afternoon and holidays. They deal with exciting topics such as robotics, programming, hydrogen and macro photography. They are supported by young people from secondary schools that help them develop ideas, use tools correctly and present their results.

structure of research cars and MINT initiatives

As part of these programs, a total of five different themed cars are to be created, which the children are supposed to inspire for active participation. "We received 25,000 euros for each project and various foundations donated to the different themed cars," reports clock master. Depending on the equipment, a mobile car costs between 3,000 and 3,500 euros and addresses areas such as green fishing technology, robotics and other technical disciplines. This commitment not only limited to the Fürstenberg School; The mobile research cars are also to be awarded to other primary schools, which enables wide use of these valuable educational resources.

In this context, Bayer Foundation has included a total of seven school projects in the area of its Bergkamen location in the "Science@School" funding program. With a total amount of 55,000 euros, the Foundation supports initiatives from cities such as Bergkamen, Dortmund, Castrop-Rauxel, Ense and Warendorf. Since the start of the school support program in 2007, 82 projects have been funded with a total of over half a million euros.

The initiatives that are financially supported here are aimed at introducing innovative teaching concepts and offering regular lessons to attractive additions. According to a press release from the Bayer Foundation, the projects are intended to help students get closer to the fun of the natural sciences and to illustrate their social importance.

For the Fürstenberg School, this is a significant step towards innovative MINT training courses. The expansion of the 3D printing studio and the introduction of mobile research workshops not only offer the students new opportunities for practical experience, but also promote understanding of complex technological relationships.
