Nottulner are committed: award winners for Ukraine aid project!
In a moving ceremony, the special "Engagement" special award was awarded to two committed Nottulner Foundation. Andreas Leistikow and Norbert Wienke received the award for their remarkable project "Emergency cooker for Ukraine". In view of the Russian attack on Ukraine, Leistikow developed an innovative stove that mainly consists of a bicycle brake disc. This simple construction enables cooking paste to cook and thus facilitate basic care in crisis areas. So far, over 1000 such stoves have been sent to Ukraine.
The Nottuln Peace Initiative (FI) played a crucial role by collecting and managing the donations for the project. This was also the reason why Norbert Wienke, managing director of the FI, was awarded as a co -award winner. The ceremonial award ceremony took place in a circus tent in Herne, where a circus provided performances for a festive atmosphere. During the event, the Nottulner were asked to take the stage and interviewed about their project.
impressive willingness to donate
The importance of the project became clear during the award ceremony when Andreas Leistikow announced that he could buy two pallets of burners for 2300 euros that are urgently needed. The guests reacted immediately and many spontaneously pulled out their wallets to donate the lack of amount. This spontaneous fundraiser made it clear that the listeners were deeply touched by the work of the Nottulner. A total of over 25,000 euros have flowed into the project so far, which made the two excellent very grateful.
The emerging future of the project looks promising, because the Blau-Gelbe Kreuz from Rheine, an organization similar to the German Red Cross for Ukraine, has promised to continue the project and continue to transport relief goods to Ukraine. This collaboration is considered very important by everyone involved in order to provide the people in Ukraine the needed support in the coming winter months.
The two Nottulner showed themselves extremely motivated and inspired after the honor to continue working for their project. "The third war winter is facing people in Ukraine. The aid needs are huge. People simply need support," said Leistikow. Safe water supply is particularly essential for the nutrition of small children to avoid infections due to improper food preparation.
