Herne. St. Martin is back and brings a festive atmosphere to Herne! In the coming days, the city will be fulfilled by happy moves and festive celebrations. Here are the most important dates that you shouldn't miss!

On Saturday, November 9th, the St. Marien community in Baukau invites you to the traditional Martins celebration. From 4:30 p.m., the celebrants gather in the meadow in front of the parish hall at Bismarckstrasse 72. At 5 p.m. the big move starts, where St. Martin moves through the streets with lanterns and music. Martin pretzels and lots for a Martins goose can be purchased before moving. After the return, the story of St. Martin is re -enacted, and the physical well -being is well taken care of!

On Sunday, November 10th, the Martinsfest continues in the Catholic St. Trinity community in Holthausen. From 4 p.m., visitors can expect stands with delicious Martin pretzels, sausages, waffles, mulled wine and cocoa. The Martin play is performed in the church at 5 p.m., followed by a lantern parade with St. Martin on horseback. The evening ends at the Martinsfeuer, and the proceeds of the festival benefit the Herner Tafel.

At the same time, the Herne support tower in the Schlosspark Strünkede organizes its traditional move. From 4 p.m. there will be grilled and drinks before the move starts at 5 p.m. And the Jolante team invites you to the St. Martins parade in the Gysenbergpark on Monday, November 11th. The meeting point is in front of the sports hall at 5 p.m., at the Revierpark, where the participants are led through the park from St. Martin on his horse at 6 p.m. The Herne music school accompanies the lantern parade, and Martin's history is told at the campfire. Food and drinks such as children's punch, waffles, mulled wine and bratwurst are also taken care of!
