Wissing warns: traffic light coalition remains, citizens decide on the future!

Berlin-In a dramatic appeal, Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing urged his FDP to stay in the traffic light coalition. In a guest contribution for the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”, he described an early dissolution of the alliance as “disrespectful” towards the citizens. Wissing emphasized that it is not the politicians or party conferences that decide on majority education, but the voters themselves.

He warned that the current political situation requires more from the democratic parties than only defining the positions of others. «Coalitions are not easy. Government is not easy. Democracy is not easy, »explained Wissing and emphasized the responsibility of all sustainable solutions together. These words come at a critical time, while the coalition partner discusses unresolved issues in relation to the state budget, economic policy and the control of immigration.

speculation about a possible exit

The continuing dispute within the coalition has fueled speculation in the past few days that the FDP may be facing an early exit from the traffic light coalition. Wissing therefore demands that the parties should not limit themselves to discredit other values and attitudes, but rather work to develop majority -capable solutions. The future of the coalition now depends on the ability of the parties to work together constructively and to master the challenges together.
