Uli Hoeneß: Germany needs more confidence and pragmatist!

München, Deutschland - In a passionate appeal, Uli Hoeneß, the honorary president of Bayern Munich, sharply criticized the mentality of the Germans. During a panel discussion with cabaret artist Dieter Nuhr in Munich, the 72-year-old found: "At the moment everything in Germany is doing so badly." Hoeneß asked citizens to regain their self -confidence and to expect more humility from those who are responsible for the current challenges.

Hoeneß, who for a long time acted as head of the most successful football club in Germany, demands a return to pragmatics who really work for the people. "It is now very, very important that we look ahead and refer to our strengths," he said. In doing so, he left no doubt that he would like to hold the responsibilities into account, but without naming concrete names.

"a Jammer-Volk" and criticism of the media

"Germany is an incredibly wealthy country with a great economy, but at the moment we are just a miserable people," continued Hoeneß. The Bavaria patron also suffered sharp criticism of the media, which in his opinion spread negative mood every day. These statements were very well received by the audience in the Bavarian National Museum and were rewarded with applause. Hoeneß also expressed concerns about the political situation in the United States and made it clear that he could "endure" Donald Trump, which underlines his lack of understanding about developments in America.
