There was a dramatic incident in Stuttgart that night when hundreds of people were stuck in an underground car park! The fire alarm went off at 1 a.m. Sunday and the situation quickly escalated. The sprinkler system sprayed water and the fire doors fell out of nowhere, blocking the path of around 200 vehicles. A nightmare for everyone trapped in the garage!

False alarm caused by pigeon droppings?

But what was the reason for this terrifying moment? Luckily there was no fire! The alarm was probably triggered by pigeon droppings, but this still needs to be further investigated. The police were quickly on the scene and, together with technicians, tried to open the gate - but without success. The situation became increasingly tense as the fire department was called to help.

After almost four hours of waiting, the fire department finally cut a hole in the gate big enough for a car! Why the fire department was not immediately informed of the alarm remains a mystery. The company that operates the underground car park was contacted but did not initially respond to the request. The underground car park will remain closed until further notice and those affected can only hope that such incidents are avoided in the future!
