The reaction of the affected fast food chains comes promptly. Taylor Foods, an important supplier of McDonald’s, pulls several onion products from the range. According to the FDA, the giant McDonald’s temporarily removed the quarter of the Pounder and the cut onions in twelve states. On Friday the decision came to completely forego Taylor Foods onion products in the future.

Other fast food giants are not in idle in the background! Yum too! Brands, the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, as well as Burger King, have removed fresh onions from their offer to advance the crisis. Trained health authorities warn that certain tribes of coli bacteria can lead to serious diseases, including violent stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea and vomit as a particularly serious complication.
