Wind wheels, water & living: Gangelt plans forward -looking solutions!

In the municipality of Gangelt, fundamental issues such as wind, water and living were recently on the agenda of the building committee. This session was a crucial step in several important matters that had already caused a lot of sensation in the past.

The discussion about the Winden-Energiege area Breber-Nord/II was first dealt with. The expansion of the area on the L228 was originally planned, but due to the proximity to a neighboring sand pit, this would have raised legal concerns. Thanks to creative solutions and close coordination with the district government, a compromise could finally be found: the rotors of the wind turbines can protrude into the surface of the sand pit, which will leave the activity in the sand pit untouched. Such innovative approaches are of crucial importance in today's world, in which renewable energies are becoming more important.

reduction of flood areas

Another central topic was the problem of flood areas. In intensive votes with the district government, the municipality of Gangelt was able to significantly reduce the potential flood areas on the Saeffelbach. Willibert Mevissen, Department of Building and Planning, introduced the committee to a map that illustrated the drastic decrease in the designated flood areas. The red marking now limits the potential flood areas to a much smaller area.

This reduction has far -reaching consequences: the necessary measures are now focusing on the construction of a new rain retention basin near the sewage treatment plant near Birgden. After all, these measures could also be an advantage for residents, since many houses from the previous flood areas could fall out and thus enjoy insurance advantages. These positive developments are the result of lengthy discussions that go back to 2013 when the community commissioned the flood areas.

The district government was ready to accept the new plan in principle after various calculations and discussions provided clarity in the years. However, the new card that is finally handed over, which shows significant reductions, remains non -binding for the time being until the district government grants its consent.

new construction area in Kreuzrath

In addition, the building committee recently approved a new development plan in Kreuzrath. The plan "Am Green Ways" provides for the creation of a new building area with 28 properties. The aspect of ecological tolerance was particularly noticed, since only 23,000 ecophanges are incurred for this construction area in its planning. This is possible because some of the necessary points come from the neighboring construction area "Im Heyerfeld" and is supplemented by the creation of an extensive meadow in the area.

An innovative aspect of this new building area is the central drainage plant, which is created instead of a traditional infiltration basin on the edge of the area. This system is designed as a flat trough that can effectively derive water thanks to a special flow package in the underground. In addition, paths are created along this trough that not only serve to drain, but also offer the residents an increased quality of stay.

Overall, it can be seen that the community Gangelt is on a positive way with its projects and the creative solution of challenges. The building committee continuously is working on the implementation of sustainable and future -oriented solutions, be it in the area of renewable energies or planning residential areas. The developments in Gangelt are not only important locally, but are in a larger context of sustainable development.
