In need of care in North Rhine -Westphalia: Record numbers and regional differences!

The number of people in need of care in Germany increases rapidly. According to a current study that is based on esteemed data on the need for care, the federal states of East Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Saarland are particularly affected. In the district itself, the proportion of insured persons in need of care is 7.8 percent, which corresponds to the nationwide average. However, this number has almost doubled in the past six years, which has alarm bells ring. The situation in Viersen, where the highest proportion of those in need of care is recorded, is particularly violent, followed by Heinsberg and Düren. In contrast, people in Bavaria have the slightest care dependency, as the Study of news894

alarming poverty situation in Germany

parallel to the increase in those in need of care grows concern for the increasing poverty rate in Germany. An investigation of the parity overall association reveals that not only more people live in poverty, but that the proportions of poverty are often overlooked. Over 17.5 million people, i.e. more than 20 percent of the population, have an income that is below the poverty line if the high housing costs are taken into account. These results show that more than 5.4 million people live below the poverty line than previously assumed. The study points out that high rents and ancillary costs force many households to spend over a third of their income for housing costs, which strongly endangers the financial security of the citizens. This will be particularly problematic for young adults under 25 and older people over 65, who often live alone and thus have higher housing costs, reports the evening newspaper Munich .

These developments make it clear that in Germany both the challenge of the need for care and the problem of the high housing costs require new urgently needed political measures. The social changes present not only individuals, but also the political decision -makers with an immense task in order to maintain and expand the urgently needed social standards.
