New board of the Kreissparkasse Heinsberg: Arnd Schürmann in focus!
A new star on the board of the Kreissparkasse Heinsberg: Arnd Schürmann, a man with clear visions and unshakable optimism, takes over! The 53-year-old, who is rooted in his home town of Tüddern, worked his way up from the modest beginnings as a trainee to the top of the Sparkasse. "Once Sparkasse, always Sparkasse"-that is his motto, and it shows in his impressive career, which began in 1987 when he applied for an apprenticeship as a 14-year-old
Schürmann, who never felt the need to change the pages, not only made a name for itself in the Kreissparkasse Heinsberg, but also developed a deep understanding of the institution and its values. "I know the DNA of the Sparkasse," he says proudly and highlights the numerous training opportunities that are offered to him and his colleagues. With a diploma as a savings bank business economist and years of experience in various management positions, it is well equipped to master the challenges of the future.
The baton is handed over
Marie-Theres Jakobs-Bolten, the long-time officer, will retire at the end of March 2024 after 40 years and hand over the baton to Schürmann. Together with Thomas Giessing, he will run the business. Schürmann has gained valuable experience as a deputy board member since 2016 and knows what to expect. "It is a colorful Strauß of tasks, from risk management to the construction department," he explains and emphasizes that he wants to do everything he can to keep the Kreissparkasse strong, especially in challenging times like this.
The global economy faces major challenges, and the Kreissparkasse is not unaffected either. However, Schürmann sees optimistic into the future: "In the Heinsberg district, there is mostly solid companies, which is confident about medium -sized companies as a lender." With a clear focus on digitization, sustainability and recruitment, he will lead the Sparkasse to the modern era - even if that means making unpleasant decisions such as closing branches. "It was a strategic decision, but we now have a nationwide presence that will not change so quickly," he says.
