Wolves attack: sheep ripped off in front of the house - a shock for the region!

In a shocking incident, two sheep of Dr. Kirsten von Hagen brutally attacked wolves on Thursday in Sinderhauf, near Valbert. While one of the animals was only eaten, the other, a 100 kilogram sheep, remained hardly more than a few remains. The cruel traces of the attack were visible in the morning: intestines and scraps of wool were scattered in the grass, a picture of the terror for the owner who sees the animals as part of their family.

wolves attack: A nightmare for animal owners

The wolf cracks in the region are increasing. Dr. Of Hagen, who grew up with sheep and maintained a close relationship with them, is destroyed. "I don't want to experience that anymore," she says, while looking at the empty pasture areas. Despite her experience with nature, she had never expected wolves so close to her home. Her sheep were in the immediate vicinity of the house, and she hadn't taken any special safety precautions because she thought the wolf was far away.

The cruel reality has now made it to rethink her attitude. "I can no longer protect my sheep," she explains while planning to better secure her horses. A higher fence is installed to protect the animals from further attacks. The wolf consultant, who took DNA samples in the afternoon of the incident, confirmed that the young animals could soon intervene in hunting, which further increases the worries of the animal owners in the area.

public event on the wolf problem

On December 10th, an event will take place in the Ebhalelle, at which Dr. Michael Weiler, a veterinarian and wolf expert, will talk about the return of the wolves. He will discuss the challenges that arise for animal owners and emphasize the need to regulate the wolf population. "Wolves have to be shot especially when they drive around in the vicinity of inhabited areas," says Weiler. The event promises to become an important forum for discussion about dealing with these predators.
