UWG withdrawal: Ute Buchheim withdraws-Ralf Bonen takes over!

In Rietberg, the independent voters (UWG) has announced a significant change in its management structure. Dr. Ute Buchheim, the deputy chairman of the faction, has declared her resignation what fresh impulses could provide within the UWG. Her successor, Ralf Bonen, who also works as chairman of the UWG in the Rietberg urban area, will now enter this role.

This decision by Ute Buchheim, which has been active in the UWG for over 18 years, does not come as a surprise because it played an important role in the last election periods as a council member and in various committees. Originally, she started her political path as a knowledgeable citizen for the voter community. She teaches on a vocational college and plans to maintain its council mandate and the chair of the committee for school and day care center until the municipal elections in 2025.

reasons for resignation

Buchheim explained their motives for the resignation: "They are personal reasons and changed challenges in the private environment that prompted me to take a shorter step and give up responsibility." She also emphasized the requirements for parliamentary group management. In order to lead a faction internally and to represent it externally, it is necessary to approach the matter with full energy and optimal time management. In view of the upcoming local elections, she considered the time to be appropriate to give the new parliamentary group leader an opportunity to get well into the role.

The group leader Josef Beermann was affected by Buchheim's resignation, but expressed his respect for her: "We regret her resignation, but respect her decision." Beermann sees a capable successor in Ralf Bonen and emphasizes the good cooperation in recent years: "As chairman, Ralf Bonen directs our voter community in a more prudent and foresight." This continuity could help the UWG to successfully cope with the challenges of the next election and to consolidate their position in Rietberger politics.

The developments in the UWG show how political structures adapt and how important it is to have suitable leadership figures, especially at a time when the local elections are just around the corner. The fresh ideas and the experienced hand of Ralf Bonen could give the UWG the necessary upswing in order to continue to act as a significant political force in Rietberg.
