Gütersloh goes digitally: Registration of residence now child's play now!
From now on, the citizens of Gütersloh can easily register their place of residence online. The city has introduced the electronic residence registration (EWA), as reported on guetersloh.de . This innovative solution enables official acts to be carried out from home, which not only saves time, but also drastically reduces the effort for authorities. Use is very simple: a smartphone with the ID app, an ID card or an EID card with an activated online ID function and an official user account with Bundid are required. The safety of the data is guaranteed by encrypted transmissions and the application of the online ID function.
In addition, individual registrations in Gütersloh can not only be handled, registrations for families are also possible, provided that all persons are linked to the registration register and move together, which applies in particular to married couples and their minor children. After registration, everyone will receive a falsificial digital registration confirmation. This information was supplemented by residential registration.gov.de . To update address data on ID cards or passports, stickers come to the interested parties by post.
Another advantage of this online solution is that it enables citizens to act regardless of the opening hours of the offices, which is a relief for both citizens and the administration. The introduction of the EWA is part of a comprehensive, nationwide digitization project, which was created by the Senate Chancellery Hamburg in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Home (BMI) in order to make the administrative processes more modern and citizen -friendly. This not only improves the user experience, but also promotes the discharge of the administration.
