Wembkenstraße, 45886 Gelsenkirchen, Deutschland - Gelsenkirchen (ots)
drama and chaos last weekend in Gelsenkirchen! Four times, courageous police officers had to demonstrate their professionalism when they had to act against aggressive resistance. It is an alarming picture - in one of the quieter corners of the city, the aggression of some citizens exposed themselves to the law enforcement officers in full force!
On the evening of November 8, 2024, the officers were called on Wembkenstrasse due to property damage. A 28-year-old man from Gelsenkirchen refused to indicate his personal details and vehemently resisted when the police wanted to check his ID. The Situation escalated and the aggressor had to be fixed with handcuffs. For security reasons, he ended up in police custody.
a weekend full of resistance
on Sunday morning, as soon as the night had come to rest, the police had to intervene again on the European road. A 24-year-old man from Herne, who showed himself uncooperatively because of regulatory disorders, wanted to flee and got unexpected help from his companions. This led to a real chaos that finally ended with the arrest of the man. One of his companions is now being followed for attempted exemption from prisoner!
Another incident occurred on the street at the slaughterhouse around 2:15 a.m. Here, an uncooperative 41-year-old raced against the police when she wanted to capture his personal details. With kicking he tried to hurt the officials and did not remain calm in the cell either - a true psycho! But the police stayed strong and brought the situation under control.
The last incident occurred around 4 a.m. when the police were called to an assault offense. Here a 52-year-old attacker ignored the officers of the officials and even tried to get a weapon! The police reacted at lightning speed and the man was taken into custody. Fortunately, despite the threat, there was no injured person among the police.
The police make it clear: attacks on civil servants are unacceptable. The Gelsenkirchen police chief Tim Frommeyer was shocked by the incidents: "Such attacks are deeply contemptuous and absolutely irresponsible!" It remains to be hoped that citizens internalize this message and will show the necessary respect for the emergency services in the future.
