Euskirchener Rater in court: almost a driver's license away!

A dangerous incident in Euskirchen causes excitement! The 21-year-old Sammy D. has turned out again in road traffic-and not in a positive sense. The young driver, who has already noticed his behavior several times, now ended up in court. The public prosecutor accused him of participating in a forbidden motor vehicle race. But that was not all: Sammy D. had ruthlessly behaved on March 11 with his BMW 428i in Zülpich when he tried to hang out an overtaking police vehicle!

The situation escalated when the civil patrol that controlled traffic was behind D. to draw it attention to damage to his vehicle. But instead of stopping, the driver accelerated and raced away at an excessive speed. "We had 100 km/h on the speedometer, but did not get past him because of our significantly weaker engine output," said a police officer as a witness. Only after around 400 meters and dangerous driving behavior did Sammy D. finally stop. The judge found that the prerequisites for a conviction due to a forbidden motor vehicle race were not fulfilled, but the coercion in road traffic remained.

judge speaks clear words

In the end, Sammy D. was punished with a fine of 1000 euros, which he has to pay to the German Bone Markspart File (DKMS). He also received a two -month driving ban. "So her car would almost have been gone," warned the district judge Stefanie Diel to the accused. She had used juvenile justice because D. was only 20 years old at the time of the crime. Diel emphasized that D.'s behavior in road traffic was unacceptable and questioned whether it was suitable for leading a vehicle. "So you shouldn't think in road traffic, especially if you endanger others," said the judge.
