Loneliest bus stop Euskirchen: only for a school child!
in the middle of the Wald in Münsteifel, surrounded by nothing but nature, is probably the most lonely bus stop in the district of Euskirchen. This stop, which is hardly hit by buses, is a real curiosity in the city triangle between Cologne, Bonn and Aachen. But the station in Kleinbüllesheim exceeds them all when it comes to loneliness. According to Michaela Ohlert from the city traffic Euskirchen (SVE), this stop records the fewest in-depth and exit in the entire urban area. A visit on site confirmed: there is really nothing going on here.
Only five minutes away from the famous Therme Euskirchen, the bus line 731 is waiting for its few passengers. The timetable is sobering: except on Thursdays during school, there is only one bus here, and at 7.53 a.m. - Monday to Friday, only on school days. A boy who happened to be found at the stop reveals: "The bus only thinks here for my sister." In the past he also drove along, but now he is attending a secondary school. The “Am Heiligenhäuschen” stop is almost an exclusive stop for a elementary school student.
SVE set up bus stop for a family
Uwe Brinkmann from the SVE explains that the parents' parents had expressed the wish, since the bus drives the route from Dom-Esch to Kleinbüllesheim anyway. A simple stop was set up that offers little more than a sign and a timetable. The bus drives towards the center of Euskirchen, but the stop remains spartan: no roofing, no seats, not even a trash can.
The stop is on the K15, where cars are allowed to rush past at 100 km / h. Another curiosity: the bus only stops on the side where there is an agricultural company. There is not even a stop sign in the opposite direction. "It is too dangerous for a school child to get out there," said Brinkmann. Therefore, the parents pick up their daughter in Kleinbüllesheim after school.
days of the loneliest bus stop counted
But the days of this exclusive stop are counted. At the end of the school year, the parents ask whether the stop is still needed. According to the student's brother, this will soon no longer be the case, because "then my sister also goes to a secondary school".
