Medical emergency: Motorists cause traffic jam to A1 near Bakum

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, there was a shocking traffic accident in Bakum around 8:30 a.m. when a 61-year-old driver from the Ennepe-Ruhr district experienced health problems and came off the road with his Ford. The car got directly into the construction site area and crashed against the mighty slide protection wall. A serious mistake, because the man's journey was not yet over!

Regardless of his predicament, the driver tried to overtake a tractor-trailer from a 49-year-old from the Münsterland. But the end result was catastrophic: there was an impact, and the Ford was finally accurate. The damage to both vehicles amounts to a horrendous 20,000 euros! A traffic jam that extended to the Vechta junction kept the road users going over five kilometers for the elaborate rescue operation and the restoration of the road.

The dramatic events did not give any time for doubt: the 61-year-old was quickly taken care of by an ambulance and taken to the hospital-with suspicion of a stroke, the whole thing is much more serious! It could only be waited on site, while traffic had to normalize again.
