In a groundbreaking step, the cannabis social club Ganderkesee in Lower Saxony, near Oldenburg, was the first cultivation association in Germany to issue legal cannabis to its members. Michael Jaskulewicz, the first happy recipient, was able to put his hands on different varieties of the drug and described the experience as a "absolutely cool feeling". The first step in a new era

Since July, cannabis growing associations have been able to work legally for the community cultivation and the distribution of cannabis since July. The Ganderkese club has emerged as a pioneer and is proud to have brought in the first legal harvest. A spokeswoman for the Federal Drug Commissioner confirmed that no other club started harvesting earlier, even if there are no official harvest data for other clubs. The club has proven to be particularly advanced and sets new standards.

"Our members come from the middle of society," emphasizes club chairman Daniel Keune. The age group ranges from 18 to 70 years, and the members are both employees and entrepreneurs. The association has been working intensively on the legalization of cannabis consumption for two years and sees it an opportunity for preventive health protection. "We guarantee that our cannabis will be safe and without harmful additives," explains Keune.

Jaskulewicz, who is one of the first supporters of the association, is pleased about the opportunity to consume clean cannabis. He remembers his bad experiences with contaminated grass from the 1990s that has added to him in terms of health. "After that I felt very dirty," he reports. Through the discussions about partialization, he reconsidered his views on the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, especially in the presence of his five -year -old child. "I would like society to go in this direction," he says and calls for a rethink in consumer culture.
