Voluntary examiners: Key to securing skilled workers in the Ennepe-Ruhr district!

In initial vocational training, it is volunteer examiners who take on this important task. The South Westphalian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hagen (SIHK) describes these committed helpers as "honorary people". With the new #ehrenmensch campaign, the SIHK wants to put the importance of this volunteers in the foreground and at the same time win new volunteers. Around 7,000 exams have to be taken annually, and the volunteer examiners are crucial for securing skilled workers in the Region. Regina Pfeif, examination clerk of the SIHK, sums it up: "I could not judge whether a truck is properly loaded or would overturn in the next curve." The expertise of the examiners is of great importance, especially in professions with a high practical need for experience. These examiners are not only experts, but also mentors for the often nervous test subjects on one of the most important days of their lives. Their empathy helps the trainees to win the necessary security.
