Jonas Bohrer: The youngest kart talent from the AMC Duisburg inspires in Offenbach!
Duisburg. On the last Sunday, eight -year -old Jonas Bohrer from AMC Duisburg competed in the Southwest German ADAC Kartslalom championship 2024 in Offenbach/Queich. At this gripping event, the best drivers qualified from six associations. A total of 24 talented pilots took part and completed a training course in the electro-kart after they were allowed to commit the demanding route.
The challenge of the route was clearly felt. Some participants struggled to find their way during the race and lost their orientation. Despite these difficulties, Jonas managed to assert himself in hard competition. There were two pylons in the training run, which he had to knock over, but in the two subsequent races he drove error -free and was finally able to secure the twelfth place. For one of the youngest participants, this was a remarkable result that made both him and his team of coaches proud. The fact that it was Jonass for the first season made the qualification all the more meaningful.
further challenges at the Nürburgring
The AMC Duisburg will also be represented at the renowned Nürburgring next weekend. The last race weekend of the ADAC Racing Weekend is on the program. Johannes Georg Kreuer will compete in the special touring car Trophy (STT) and fight for points in the Donkervoort D8R. It gets particularly exciting for him because he wants to argue about the title in these two final runs in his class.
In addition, the GTC Race is strengthened by the family racing team Équipe Vitesse. Team boss Jil Herbst brings an impressive Mercedes-AMG GT3. The car is driven by Martin Zander, who is now active again in this racing series after a long break from 2017. Among the drivers is also the experienced Kenneth Heyer, who has been involved in the GTC Race for many years and is driving for the Équipe Vitesse in various racing series. The races are held in two rounds for 30 minutes each, plus an exciting 60-minute route on the GT 60 powered by Pirelli.
In view of the number of participants and the challenges that every race brings with it, it remains to be seen how the drivers will beat in the upcoming events. The spectators expect gripping duels and emotional moments on the track. The good performance of talents such as Jonas Bohrer show that the future of motorsport is secured in both the younger and the established rows of drivers, and the commitment of the racing teams remains a significant factor for the success of these events.
