Leg buys the glassmaker: big plans for Düsseldorf!
Gerresheim, Düsseldorf, Deutschland - The Düsseldorf real estate group LEG has made a significant acquisition in the area of residential properties. As RP online reported 53 percent of the shares to Brack Capital Properties (BCP) from the Adler Group. This strategic step enables LEG to get more to the Glasmacherkierte project in Düsseldorf, which is to extend on a 300,000 square meter site of the former Glashütte in Gerresheim.
The takeover comprises 52.68 percent of the shares in BCP, which has acquired LEG for a price of 45 euros per share, which corresponds to a total of around 219 million euros. Previously, LEG already held 35.52 percent of the shares in BCP and now has an option to another 10 percent. BCP manages an extensive housing portfolio of over 9,000 units and plans to build a total of five building complexes with more than 1,500 apartments in the new district. This includes both rental and condominiums, as well as support offers such as a daycare center and a medical center.
development of the glass maker
The planning for the glassmaker district was initiated in 2008, but the construction started due to various circumstances. The current construction plans stipulate that the LEG implements the first construction phase and actively intensifies the implementation of the plans. In addition, the plans for neighboring urban properties were already carried out, on which trade is to be created, such as Düsseldorf Economy The old glass tower of the Gerresheimer Glashütte is also to be revitalized, whereby an urban planning contract and building law have not yet been available.
In a further step, Leg boss Lars von Lackum plans to record talks with relevant areas of the city of Düsseldorf in order to advance the projects. For the time being, the Adler Group retains 10.1 percent of the shares in BCP, which are intended for a future takeover. The restructuring within the Adler Group also contributes to the current developments because the company separates from land and projects.
