District synod Düsseldorf-Mettmann: Important elections and decisions are pending!

The tension cooks over, because the district synod of the Düsseldorf-Mettmann church district stands in front of its autumn conference in the Evangelical Community Center Lintorf! On Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th, around 90 MPs from ten parishes gather to steer the fortunes of the region. The opening will take place on Friday at 6.30 p.m. after the sacrament service and is accompanied by an intensive exchange of the parishes.

The focus of this synod will be the choice of the new superintendent: Frank Weber retires after 22 years as a superintendent of the church district of Düsseldorf-Mettmann! His successors have been as a hot candidate. Thomas Gerhold, an experienced pastor and journalist from Ratingen, as well as Rainer Kaspers, pastor of the Evangelical Reconciliation Community Duisburg-Süd and systemic consultant, are in the competition for the responsible position. Who will follow the successor and lead the fortunes of the community?

But that's not all! The choice of the assessor is also on the agenda. Fighting the voice of the synodal between Laura Kadur, pastor of the parish of Hochdahl, and Frank Schulte, pastor of the parish of Ratingen and coordinator of the ecumenical emergency pastoral care in the district of Mettmann. Added to this are the elections of four synodal elders who will have a say in the next eight years. The expectations are high and the voices of the delegates will move a lot!
