President Schürmann ceremoniously presented the funding notice for the groundbreaking project "Smart Energy Hub Düsseldorf-Kreis Mettmann". This innovative project, which is supported by the European Fund for Regional Development (EFR), aims to drive the energy transition in the region and develop sustainable solutions. With around 2 million euros in funding, the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences will work on implementation together with Düsseldorf Innovation and Technology Center GmbH (DITEC) and regional management Düsseldorf-Kreis Mettmann in the next three years.

The "Smart Energy Hub" will act as a platform for innovation and cooperation to master the challenges of climate change. Schürmann emphasized the importance of developing forward -looking technologies precisely and bringing them into a practical manner. "With the Smart Energy Hub, we are making a strong sign of the future viability of our region," he said. The project will not only strengthen regional competitiveness, but also promote the transfer of scientific knowledge into practice.

under the direction of Prof. Dr. Mario Adam will advance the Center for Innovative Energy Systems (Zies) of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, which are intended for building and energy management of single-family houses and small companies.
