Dortmund's fight against knife violence: Police starts large campaign!
A dramatic day of action against the knife power caused a stir at the weekend in Dortmund! In the night from Friday to Saturday (November 14, 2024 - 15.11.2024), the Dortmund police headquarters and the Federal Police Inspection Dortmund jointly set a strong sign against violent crime. The emergency services combed the city, the northern city center and the main train station to defuse dangerous situations and to ensure the security of the citizens.
The day of action is part of a comprehensive package of measures to combat knife crime, which has been active in Dortmund since May 2024. Police President Gregor Lange emphasizes: "The knives do not belong on the street!" With a strict ban on carrying for knives and dangerous objects, rigoros is carried out against potential perpetrators. So far, 155 suspected cases have been checked, 106 individual prohibition orders were issued and already found 9 violations that were punished with compulsory money.
