Coesfeld, Deutschland - Coesfeld (ots)
alarm mood in Coesfeld! More and more citizens are falling for the sneaky machinations of fraudsters who pretend to be bank employees. In a perfidious game, these criminals pretend suspicious bookings on the accounts of their victims and force them to transmit their TAN numbers. Such a procedure inevitably leads to threatening financial losses for those affected!
The special thing about this fraudulent stitch? The victims actually see their bank's correct phone number on their display thanks to Call-ID spoofing, which means that the crooks cleverly disguise their true identity! Before the call, the fraudsters even used malware to receive unauthorized access to the online banking data of their victims and thus spy on their account information.
warning of the police!
The police are alerted and gives important recommendations for action for all bank customers:
- don't put yourself under pressure - threats of supposed bank employees are a clear warning signal!

- Never call back the number displayed in the call, but choose your bank's number!
- Stay suspicious: If in doubt, speak to the police under 110 or directly with your bank!
- inform relatives and friends about this fraud stitch so that nobody traps!
