Christmas tree Ludwig Emil: Transport breakdown delayed Kasseler!
Christmas tree Ludwig Emil: Transport breakdown delayed Kasseler!
A Christmas tree that was intended for the Kassel Christmas market causes excitement! The magnificent "Ludwig Emil", a Douglasia from the Fabireck family in Borken, should be on the Königsplatz on Saturday. But the impressive branches, which made him favorite among the Christmas tree applications, proved to be too massive for transport. The tree, which is 16 meters high and 6.30 meters wide, could not be laced together on the required width of three meters.
After hours of felling work and intensive preparations, Oliver Braun from Kassel Marketing GmbH had to see in the late afternoon that transport could not take place as planned. "Ludwig Emil" remains in Borken-Freudenthal for the time being, while the city has to apply for a new approval for transport. A new attempt is to be started in the middle of next week to finally bring the tree to Kassel.
a tree with history
The Fabireck family had planted the tree for the birth of their daughter and already submitted for the Christmas tree application last year. But at that time it was too late, so another tree, "Lotte", adorned Königsplatz. Birgit Kuchenreiter from Kasseler Marketing GmbH raved about the "great width" of "Ludwig Emil", which was named after Ludwig Emil Grimm, a brother of the famous storyteller. The anticipation for the big appearance of the tree is growing, and at the latest from November 25th it should be admired in full splendor in the Kassel Märchenachtmarkt.
