with a proud 16 meter height, 6.5 meters wide and a weight of 3.5 tons, the 33 -year -old fir, which was planted by the Fabireck family to the birth of their daughter Elena, became a real monster. "This is a flat root and we were afraid that he will fall over at some point," explains Petra Fabireck (59) the decision to separate from her beloved tree. But instead of simply cutting it off, the family decided to send "Ludwig Emil" into the race for the Christmas market in Kassel. And that was a direct hit!

After the tree felled and loaded onto the low loader, the disillusionment came: the branches were just too wide! While the length fit, the width crossed the permitted 3 meters for transport. A nightmare for the organizers! "We couldn't tie the branches together so closely," complained one party. But the city of Kassel did not give up and fought for an exceptional permit.

The assignment was worth it! The approval was granted on Tuesday evening, and “Ludwig Emil” finally shone at the Christmas market around midnight. A radiant symbol of the pre -Christmas period, which now inspires all visitors!
