Kassel's Christmas tree Ludwig Emil triumphed after transport pech!

A Christmas tree that is supposed to conquer the hearts of the Kasselers finally made it to Königsplatz after a bumpy start! The impressive "Ludwig Emil", a 16 meter high and 6.30 meter wide Douglasia from Borken, was transported with a special permit in a spectacular night and fog campaign. The late Tuesday evening was finally ready: the tree that was originally supposed to arrive on Saturday was set up after a three -day delay.

with a heavy transport and four accompanying vehicles, "Ludwig Emil" rolled onto the Königsplatz after midnight. At 1:30 a.m. he was proud of his place, as Oliver Braun from Kassel Marketing GmbH reported. "Everything went great now and we are very happy about it," he said. The tree, named after Ludwig Emil Grimm, the less well -known brother of the famous storyteller, is now becoming the main attraction of the Kassel fairy tale Christmas market, which begins on November 25th.

transport with obstacles

The transport of the magnificent tree was anything but easy. “Ludwig Emil” could not be transported as planned due to its exceeded branches and therefore had to linger a few days longer in the Fabireck family in Borken. This had donated the tree that grew in the garden for over 33 years. The tree was originally even 18 meters high, but for the transport it was shortened to the intended maximum height of 16 meters.

Now, after all the difficulties, "Ludwig Emil" is ready for his big appearance! The tree will be decorated in the coming days and will surely be a highlight for all visitors to the Christmas market. Kassel can look forward to a festive spectacle that makes the city shine in a Christmas shine!
