Fire Brigade Bocholt celebrates success: Honors and promotions at Martin's evening

Last Saturday, November 9th, 2024, the Suderwick fire truck of the Bocholt volunteer fire brigade experienced a memorable day! During the Martinszug, the operations department and the youth fire brigade actively support the protection of the train route. After the move, the firefighters gathered in the fire station in Suderwick for the ceremonial Martin evening, where numerous honors and promotions took place.

Dirk Arping and Marco Heisterkamp from the fire brigade Bocholt honored chief fire chief Simon Derrez for 25 years of active service with the fire brigade badge of the state of North Rhine -Westphalia in silver. For their 40-year loyalty to the fire brigade, fire director Thomas Deckers and undercut master Jörg Straatman received the certificate of honor of the Association of Fire Brigades in North Rhine-Westphalia. Main fire department Maite Fisser was also awarded for 10 years of membership. A special highlight was the promotion of the Dutch Damon Tebeest to the fireman - a unique step because he is the first Dutch adult in the Bocholt fire brigade! Damon joined the youth fire brigade in 2019 and has since had an impressive career.

In addition, there were transfers to the honorary department: after 48 years of active membership, Ludger Boland was honored, while Marc Bruckmann also transferred to the honorary department due to professional changes. Both have earned an excellent reputation through their commitment and skills.

The international grade of the evening was underlined by the awarding of the fire service badges. The "Dinxperwicker" group, consisting of firefighters from Dinxperlo and Suderwick, showed outstanding services when proof of performance in EPE in EPE. The participants received awards in different performance levels, including bronze, silver and even gold with a blue background. A truly impressive testimony for the team spirit and the professionalism of the firefighters!
