Future Bonn: Negotiations for the additional agreement take on!
On January 7, 2025, the Federal Ministry of Living, Urban Development and Building published a press release that deals with the current state of negotiations on the additional agreement on the Berlin/Bonn Act. The federal government and the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate are involved in the talks, as well as the Federal City of Bonn. The district councilors of the region welcome the decision to capture the negotiation results in a Letter of Intent. The additional agreement builds on the Berlin/Bonn law and is a political mandate from the coalition agreement.
The new election of the Bundestag, which takes place on February 23, 2025, prevents the originally planned conclusion in March 2025. As central cornerstones from April 2024, among other things: Bonn as the seat of the United Nations and International Organizations, Bonn as a sustainability location, as well as Bonn as a national and international cyber security location.
