Technical disorders in U2 and RRX: Chaos in local public transport!

On Friday evening, technical problems caused massive disorders in public transport. The U2 underground line in Vienna can only drive to a limited extent between the lake City and the Schottentor station. The Viennese lines recommend users to switch to alternative lines such as D, 1, 2 and 71. According to information from Radio Bonn . Valves for the doors cannot be monitored, and the rear parts of the train remain closed or darkened. This led to overcrowded wagons and long waiting times for travelers on the long weekend, while a solution has now been promised.

The current disorders in Vienna and in the Ruhr area once again show the vulnerability of transport systems towards technical problems. In both cases, those responsible work intensively on a quick solution, but the uncertainty over the duration of the disorders remains. Passengers in both cities have to adapt to possible restrictions in their travel plans, while the technicians do everything they can to make the systems functional again as soon as possible.
