Serious accident at Bonn Central Station: Freight train records man!

On Friday evening there was a serious incident at the Bonn Central Station when a man was hit by a freight train. The incident occurred at 6:58 p.m. in the track area near the train station. According to a spokesman for the federal police, the man entered the tracks after he had previously been addressed by another person. In a desperate attempt to leave the tracks, he was not safe in time. He suffered the most serious injuries and was immediately brought to the Bonn University Hospital, such as ga.de reported.

During the saving measures, the tracks were temporarily closed, which led to considerable delays and partial failures in various train connections, including the RE5, RB26 and S23 lines. However, most tracks - with the exception of track 1 and 2 - were released for train traffic at 8:14 p.m. Trains of the RB30 from Remagen ended in Bad Godesberg and for the route between Bonn and Bad Godesberg, a rail replacement traffic was set up by bus. Whether a second person was also recorded could not be confirmed, as it is said in the same reporting. This information was further supplemented by the history of the Bonn main station, which is used daily by around 67,000 travelers, which underlines the influence of such incidents on rail traffic, as wikipedia describes.
