Cloppenburg receives permanent certificate as a family -friendly municipality!
The city of Cloppenburg has achieved a significant success and has now been permanently certified as "family -friendly municipality". The city received this award for the third time after it was the first municipality in Lower Saxony in 2014. Trust in the city is based on a clear commitment to take the concerns of families and generations seriously. The mayor Neidhard Varnhorn and other representatives accepted the certificate during a network meeting in Bochum.
The mission statement "Family -friendly, generation -friendly, integrative, network strong" describes the vision of the city and its objectives. These principles are not only theoretical, but are actively implemented in politics and administration. However, the way to this permanent certification was not a sure -fire success, and the city continues to have great ambitions.
goals for the future
Although Cloppenburg is now permanently certified as a family -oriented municipality, this does not mean that the work is completed. Rather, the project will continue to be expanded and further developed in workshops together with representatives from politics, institutions, schools and daycare centers. The focus is on six fields of action, which include both continuous and new initiatives. These include promoting volunteering, strengthening the family -friendly economy and the networking of youth parliaments.
In addition, new projects such as a leisure fair and improved integration measures for new citizens are to be realized. An important topic is also the expansion of barrier -free mobility within the city in order to make access easier for all citizens. These initiatives aim to improve and promote the social participation of everyone, especially the seniors.
recognition by experts
The auditor Astrid Laudage had already clarified at the last workshop in April how important the city's commitment is. The workshop was well prepared and was characterized by numerous participants, which underlines the quality and the actual interest in the topics. It was particularly positive that many of the projects that have been decided since 2018 could be implemented. This meant that the Cloppenburg workshop was presented as a "good practice example" for other municipalities.
Egon Meyer-Pölking, the department and project manager, emphasizes that the city has also set a high bar with the award. It is evident that the city on the topics of family and generation justice will remain involved in future and that it will always see it as a priority. The people in Cloppenburg can be excited to see which innovative projects and changes can be expected in the coming years.
