Customs employees in Bielefeld donate 34 liters of blood: strong sign!

In an impressive act of solidarity, 82 employees of the Bielefeld main customs office recently took part in a spectacular blood donation campaign-for the first time! With the support of the German Red Cross (DRK), fabulous 34 liters of blood flowed into the supply chain. A complete success, and the best: half of the donors were there for the first time!

Arnd Hilwig, the head of the main customs office, was overwhelmed by the participation. "We can save lives together!" He emphasized and thanked all the customs officers who contributed to this extraordinary event. The spontaneous idea for donating blood came about at an educational fair. Christoph Schubert, a committed customs officer and passionate blood donor, brought up the subject of blood conservative shortage and immediately took the initiative to create this campaign.

The previous canteen of the customs was converted without further ado, and on November 4, 2024 the time had finally come: Under the best organization of the DRK, the donation date was carried out in Werner-Bock-Strasse. The response is overwhelming - 82 customs officers from all over the district were on site. It should be emphasized that 41 of them dared to donate and thus set a strong sign. A total of 68 blood canned goods could be obtained from the enormous 34 liters of blood!

first -person donor Astrid Moritz said: "It is so easy to help other people." The possibility of donating blood directly at work was estimated by many. The great encouragement and the numerous positive feedback promise that this impressive blood donation campaign will not remain unique-you can look forward to a repetition!
