A weekend full of culture in Bielefeld: Experience poetry, punk and blues!
An exciting weekend is imminent in Bielefeld! The cultural highlights of city life attract numerous visitors, from poetry to punk rock to blues. On Thursday, December 12th, the Bielefeld poet Hellmuth Opitz will read from his new collection "Some things are better kissed than I said". The reading takes place in the Bürgerwache district center and is musically framed by the band "Sam Reckless". Admission is free, whereby donations are welcome, as nw.de reported.

On the same day, the well-known punk rock band The Bar Stool Preachers will appear in Bielefeld. After their triumphant appearance on the Leinewebermarkt with around 2500 spectators, they promise an equally thrilling show in the club atmosphere. The punk band is supported by "agriculture & cattle breeding", which are among the longest serving punk rock bands in East Westphalia-Lippe. Tickets are available online. On Friday, December 13th, the renowned blues musician Richie Arndt will continue with George Kochbeck in the Bielefeld Jazzclub. Arndt, who has been active in the music scene for over five decades, will present exciting versions of his most famous songs with his quartet. Admission for the concert is 20 euros, .
The other events on Friday includes the “Dahamwadi Guidization”, an event that has been very popular for 22 years. A special musical journey through East Westphalian Christmas traditions is offered here. For the friends of multicultural music there is a photo lecture on Simbabwe from Roland Fettein on Saturday, which offers interesting insights into the contradictions of this country. Appropriately, the Christmas concert of the "Chit Chat Company" will take place on Sunday in the Johanniskirche, which promises contemplative and joyful songs.
