The Hitfelder Straße and Lintertstraße in Aachen are currently a chaos of water and traffic talent! After heavy rains on Thursday, November 19, these streets are completely closed. A defective drainage pipe has tightened the situation and ensures massive flooding.

The blocking concerns Hitfelder Straße from the Autobahnbrücke (A44) and Linterstraße from a depression at the cemetery Lintert. The city of Aachen informed the citizens in a message that the streets are impassable. Traffic is diverted via alternative routes: Grauenhofer Weg, Münsterstraße and Niederforstbacher Straße are now the only options for drivers who are traveling in the area. On the Kornelimünsterweg, traffic is led via Linterstraße to Grauenhofer Weg.
