Euskirchen's most exclusive bus stop: only for a school child!
in the middle of the Wald in Münsteifel, hidden between Cologne, Bonn and Aachen, is probably the most lonely bus stop in the Euskirchen district. This stop is so remote that compared to other stations in the region, it records the very few entrances and exits. According to Michaela Ohlert from the city of Euskirchen (SVE), the station in Kleinbüllesheim is a real curiosity. Only one bus keeps here - and only on school days at 7:53 a.m.
This stop that bears the name "Am Heiligenhausen" is more than just a simple stop. It is an exclusive stop for a single school child. A boy who happened to be encountered at the stop said that the bus only considers his sister. In the past, he used line 731 himself, but since he attended a secondary school, the stop has only been important for his sister.
a stop for a family
Uwe Brinkmann, authorized representative at the SVE, explains that the girl's parents initiated the establishment of the stop, since the bus already drives the route from Dom-Esch to Kleinbüllesheim. The stop is minimalistic: no roofing, no seats, just a sign and a timetable. Cars race past the stop at up to 100 km/h, which does not make the situation more harmless. Therefore, it was agreed with the parents that the girl will be picked up after the school in Kleinbüllesheim to get out of it.
The end of an era
But the days of this unique stop are counted. With the end of the school year, it is checked whether the stop will continue to be needed. The student's brother revealed that his sister will also switch to a secondary school next year. Then the chapter of the most exclusive bus stop Euskirchen could be closed.
