Wolfsburger is fighting PPMS: 60,000 euros for hope in Mexico!

Wolfsburg. The 43-year-old Wenke Prause from Sülfeld fights against time! It suffers from the rare and aggressive form of multiple sclerosis, known as PPMS. Your last hope? A costly stem cell transplantation in Mexico! In order to finance this life -saving treatment, the desperate mother asks for help.

Wenke lies in her care bed, surrounded by memories of better times with her husband Jens and her two sons, Jonas (10) and Luis (7). "I'm not giving up!" She calls full of determination as she upgrades with all your strength. But reality is tough: since her diagnosis in the summer of 2023, her condition has deteriorated dramatically. "In March I was able to go with a walker, now I can't even get up alone," she reports. The disease has turned her life and that of her family upside down.

The support of family and friends

The family has invested everything in the accessibility of her house to enable Wenke to live at home. "We spent a lot of money to make the necessary adjustments," she explains. But the savings are disappearing, and the health insurance company only takes on a fraction of the costs. Treatment in Mexico costs 60,000 euros - a sum that the family cannot apply alone. "I never wanted to ask for help, but now it's my only chance," admits Wenke.

The support from the neighborhood and friends is overwhelming. Together they launched a fundraising campaign on Gofundme to collect the urgently needed funds. Wenke is determined to start treatment in February in the hope that after chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation, she can regain a piece of quality of life. "I want to see my children grow up and be able to stand aside for them," she says with a smile that, despite all the adversities, exudes hope.
