Safe cyclists in the dark: new campaign for more visibility in Wittmund!

In Wittmund it is now becoming safer on the streets! The light of day has seen a brand new bicycle campaign to improve the visibility of cyclists in the dark season. The dark season not only brings cold, but also invisible dangers for cyclists who are often at dusk or darkness. A lack of lighting and poorly visible clothing make them a easily overlookable destination for drivers. That has to change!

Banner for more security

In close cooperation with the municipality of Friedeburg and the city of Wittmund, the first conspicuous banner of the state transport guard and the state of Lower Saxony were installed. These banners are in particularly endangered places and are intended to encourage all road users to increase their attention. "We would like to thank the municipalities for supporting the implementation," said Sascha Nowak from the Wittmund traffic watch. The message is clear: everyone can contribute to traffic safety!

The call for better visibility cannot be ignored. "In particular through reflective clothing or functioning lighting on the car and bicycle, every road user can afford their part for safety in road traffic," Nowak appeals. The campaign aims to raise awareness and minimize the risk of cyclists. It is high time that everyone makes their contribution to make the streets safer!
