Protest on Langeoog: 1139 signatures against ferry schedule!
Langeoog, Deutschland - The waves hit Langeoog! The "Initiative Pro Langeoog" has mobilized with impressive 1139 signatures against the current ferry schedule. Travelers and commuters are frustrated because the connection to the island is significantly difficult by the existing times. The question remains: How will politics react to this loud protest?
In a powerful step, the spokesman for the initiative recently handed over the petition to Ralf Heimes, the general representative of the mayor. The requirement is clear: a need -based adaptation of the ferry times between Bensersiel and the island harbor! The IPL has even developed suggestions on how the winter timetable could be revised sensibly. "A single ship could cope with the new times and protect resources," said the initiative.
urgent need for action!
The criticism of the current timetables is loud and clear. Train travelers who only arrive at ESEN at 5 p.m. miss the last ferry to the island. In particular, the cleaning staff, which are essential for the apartments on Langeoog, demand an earlier ferry on Saturday morning in order to be able to work efficiently. "The interests of passengers, commuters and insulans were not sufficiently taken into account," emphasizes the IPL. The Langeoog tourism service, on the other hand, claims that improvements in the timetable were intensively.
Andreas Moselage from the initiative emphasizes that the signatories are not only Langeooge, but also guests and employees who regularly commute to the island. "The great support shows the urgency with which an improvement has to be implemented. The winter timetable decided hardly fits the residents and guests' realities of life," he explains. The members of the initiative are enthusiastic about the response and thank all supporters: "Your solidarity gives us strength to continue fighting for our island of Langeoog!"
