Change at the top: Hafenwirtschafts-Vereinung in Wilhelmshaven in transition!

At the Wilhelmshaven Hafenwirtschafts-Vereinigung (WHV) there are big changes! President John Niemann has announced that he will be handed over to Andreas Bullwinkel in April 2025. The port and shipping expert will then take over the baton and elected the new chairman by the members in the upcoming meeting. An era is coming to an end, and the anticipation for fresh wind in the tour is noticeable!

But that's not all: Heiner Holzhausen, the long -time treasurer, also withdraws in the WHV after more than 30 years of work. Of these 21 years, he was active as a board member and managed numerous projects in the areas of environmental protection, offshore wind energy and location management. He recently was particularly committed to redesigning the Rüstringer Berg and the two museum ships. Although he no longer sits on the board himself, Holzhausen is retained as a consultant.

farewell to the management team

Another farewell is imminent: Ulrich Schilling, the estimated WHV head of business, will retire on December 31. His departure marks the end of an era and leaves questions about the future challenges.

However, there was a view at the most recent general meeting. The prominent guest speaker Folker Hellmeyer, one of the most famous economists in Germany, waived his fee and instead donated 500 euros for the Wilhelmshaven sailor mission. A respectful sign that not only delighted the assembled members, but also the chairman Wilfrid Adam!
