Memories of Erich Bohlen: the courageous escape route of a communist

Erich Bohlen, a communist refugee from Wilhelmshaven, fled the National Socialists in Amsterdam in 1943. He made his outbreak out of the window through a brave jump. Before his escape, Bohlen found shelter at the Valenkamp family in 1942. Coenraad Valenkamp remembers Bohlen, while Hermanna Valenkamp has no memories of him.

A correspondence between Bohlen and his parents shows that his family lived in Gartenstraße 2 in Bant. An entry in the German Reichsanzeiger of 1937 proves that Bohlen had a son, Hans Günther Erich P., who was five years old at the time and asked for maintenance. At that time, Bohl's whereabouts were unknown to the youth welfare office and the district court in Wilhelmshaven.

family and stay

Erich Bohlen was born on June 26, 1906 and was baptized on March 17, 1907. His birthplace was Jadelehstraße 3 in Wilhelmshaven, and his parents were called Johann Remmers Bohlen and Gesine Poppen, born Mennebäck. Bohlen wore the full first names Reno Erich Georg Johannes. He had three siblings: Mathilde Gesine Mariechen Elise (born 1898), Paul Richard Theodor Johannes (born 1900, fell in France in 1944), and Gerda Johanne Therese (born 1910, died 1975 in Wilhelmshaven). Gerda was married to Walter Ernst Lamprecht and had three daughters and a son.

in 1942 Bohlen was recorded as a shipbuilder in Wilhelmshaven. It is pointed out that descendants or relatives of Bohlen may have information or photos about him. Coenraad Valenkamp expressed the desire to learn more about Bohlen's curriculum vitae. Information can be sent to the WZ editorial team.

In the meantime, a report addressed the descendants of highly rode Nazi officials. Gudrun Himmler, the daughter of Heinrich Himmler, died at the end of May 2018 and remained true to the National Socialist ideology until her death. "Family Burwitz-Himmler" is on her tombstone. Edda Göring, the daughter of Hermann Göring, born in 1938, lived in the Carinhall hunting lodge and fought for her father's legacy. In 2014 she submitted a petition to the Bavarian state parliament, which was rejected.

Wolf-Rüdiger Heß, son of Rudolf Heß, who was born in 1937, joined his father's release. After his death, he spread conspiracy theories and died in 2001. Martin Bormann Junior, born in 1930, distanced himself from his father, became a priest and later Catholic religion teacher, and died in 2013. Albert Speer Junior, the son of Albert Speer, born in 1934, became anonymous and took anonymous competition to avoid the connection to his father. He died in 2017. Hilde Schramm, daughter of Albert Speer, was born in 1936, became a pedagogue and politician and founded the "Foundation Back" to promote Jewish artists. Niklas Frank, son of Hans Frank, born in 1939, became a journalist and in 1987 published the book "The Father. A settlement" about his examination with his father.

A tragic end took the family of Joseph and Magda Goebbels, who poisoned their six children on May 1, 1945 and then committed suicide, as the explanations show in another report.
