Uelzener driving sports legend Klaus-Dieter Gärtner honored with medal!

Uelzen, Deutschland - A radiant evening in Warendorf! Klaus-Dieter Gärtner, the former head of the technical school in Uelzen, was honored with not one but two prestigious awards! At the annual conference of the German Reiter and Driver Association, he received the coveted Graf-Landsberg-Velen medal in bronze for his outstanding services in driving. But that was not all: On the same evening, the traditional "bronze wagon wheel" was given to him, an award that has been going to outstanding personalities in driving since 1985!

a life for driving sports

Exactly a year ago, Gärtner said goodbye as an instructor after over 30 years. During his time at the driving school in Uelzen, he took more than 400 coaching certificates while driving and trained countless drivers, judges and horses. His expertise was not only required in training; He also acted actively in many committees of the German Equestrian Association (FN) and has participated in important guidelines, including the "guidelines for driving" and the "carriage driver's license".

The driving school in Uelzen is now continued by his daughter Kathrin Hentschel, but Klaus-Dieter Gärtner remains loyal to driving. As a mobile instructor and organizer of the annual "Seminar for Driving Sports Freunde" in Uelzen, he is still active and committed. His services were recognized as early as 2023 with the golden badge of honor of the Hanover equestrian association. A truly remarkable life path in the sign of driving sports!
